Dr. Robert L. Holt
Following a B.A. from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, Dr. Holt earned his D.M.D. from the University of Alabama in Birmingham in 1971, finishing at the top of his class. He was awarded a National Institutes of Health fellowship and earned a Ph.D. in Microbiology and a Specialty in Periodontics.
He served in the U. S. Navy as Chief of Periodontics for the 2nd Marine Division at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Dr. Holt has been President of the Atlantic Coast Dental Research Clinic and Co-Chairman of the Periodontal-Prosthetics Section and the Implantology Section. He is a former visiting Assistant Professor at Nova Southeastern University’s College of Dental Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Dentists. Dr. Holt continues to serve as a consultant to multiple dental implant and pharmaceutical companies.
Dr. Holt is widely published and co-authored the textbook Periodontal and Prosthetic Management of the Advanced Case. He has lectured extensively in the U. S. and in Europe. He has vast experience and expertise in periodontal-implant-prosthetic management of patients with complex problems. His special areas of interest and treatment activity include bone and tissue regeneration, periodontal-prosthetics, esthetics, and dental implantology. Dr. Holt is a native of Florida.
